Ingredients:
400gr all purpose flour
60ml almond milk
120ml water
50gr margarine
3 Tbsp sugar
1 sachet active dry yeast
1 pinch of salt
For the filling you will need 100gr margarine, 4-5 tablespoons of sugar and lots of cinnamon!
For the Glaze:
2 -3 Tbsp almond milk
1 cup icing sugar
Directions:
So, first we make the dough! In a large bowl add the flour with the sugar and yeast and give it a good mix so the dry ingredients combine well!
Heat the water, milk and butter in a small saucepan or in a microwave and let it cool down to lukewarm before pouring it into the dry mixture. Add salt too!
On a lightly floured bench, knead the dough for about 5 minutes. Then, place your dough in a lightly greased bowl and let it rest with a towel on top for 10 minutes.
At this point, preheat your oven to 180° C.
Roll the dough out into a rectangle (approximately 35*20cm) Evenly spread the softened margarine on top, mix the cinnamon and sugar, then drizzle all over the butter.
Roll up the dough lengthwise and cut into even pieces (it should make about 12) so don’t cut the rolls larger than 3cm! Place in a greased pyrex.
Turn off the oven, and about 5 minutes after you’ve done so, place the rolls inside and let them rise until they are doubled in size!
This will take approximately 30min! Once they have risen, turn the oven on to 180 degrees and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown!
Once you remove your buns its important to glaze them immediately so they can absorb the moisture. For a thicker glaze, you could add more icing sugar!
Serve hot and enjoy with a nice cup of tea or coffee!
